Choose Your AI Future

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Choose Your AI Future collects when you use this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. We are based in the UK, so UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, applies.

Who we are

Choose Your AI Future ("we", "us") runs this website and is responsible for your personal information. You can contact us about anything in this policy at:

Email: support@chooseyouraifuture.xyzPost: 5 Brayford Square, London E1 0SG, United Kingdom

What we collect

  • Your email address. You give it to Stripe when you subscribe, and we attach it to your account so you can log in. You also type it on the login page when you ask for a login link.
  • Your password, if you have one. Only accounts created before we switched to emailed login links have a password. It is stored in hashed form and we cannot read it.
  • An account ID. When you start the free demo or press Subscribe, we create an anonymous account with a random ID so your story can be saved. It holds no name or email until you subscribe.
  • What you type into stories. Every action you write is saved, along with the story text the AI writes back and a short description of each scene.
  • Generated illustrations. With a subscription, the first scene you write in each story gets an AI-generated picture, which we store.
  • Subscription details. Your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, whether your subscription is active, and the dates of your current billing period. We use these to know whether you have access and how many stories you have started this period.
  • Technical information. Like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and basic browser details when you load a page or use a feature.

We do not receive or store your card or bank details. Stripe collects those directly on its own checkout page. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.

Please don't type sensitive information into stories

Stories are fiction. Don't enter sensitive personal information about yourself or anyone else, such as health details, financial or account details, passwords, addresses, or anything that identifies a real person. What you type is saved and sent to our AI provider to write the next scene.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract): running your account, logging you in, saving and continuing your stories, generating text and illustrations, and managing your subscription.
  • To keep the service working and fair (legitimate interests): applying the demo and monthly limits, preventing abuse, and fixing problems.
  • To meet legal obligations (legal obligation): keeping the financial records UK tax law requires.

We only email you about your account, such as login links. We don't send marketing emails. We don't make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Who we share it with

We use these providers to run the service. Each one only receives what it needs for its part:

  • Supabase stores your account, email address, stories, subscription status and illustrations, sends login-link emails, and runs the illustration generator.
  • OpenAI generates the story text and illustrations. For each turn it receives what you typed and the last few scenes of your story, and for an illustration it receives a description of the scene. It does not receive your email address.
  • Stripe handles checkout, payments, VAT and the billing portal. Stripe acts as the merchant of record for your subscription, which means it processes your payment details, email address and billing information as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We share your account ID with Stripe so we can match your payment to your account.
  • Netlify hosts this website and runs the server code that talks to the other providers, so it handles your requests and IP address.
  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on our home page. Your browser fetches them from Google, which receives your IP address when it does.

We don't sell your personal information or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.

International transfers

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards UK law accepts, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK's approved international data transfer clauses, as set out in each provider's data processing terms.

Illustration links

Each generated illustration is saved at a long, random web address. It isn't listed or searchable anywhere, but anyone who has the exact address can open the image, so think before sharing it.

Cookies and browser storage

We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. To keep you logged in, the site saves your login session in your browser's local storage. This is strictly necessary for the service to work, so it doesn't need your consent. Logging out removes it. Stripe's checkout and billing pages set their own cookies, which are covered by Stripe's policies.

How long we keep it

  • Your account, email address and stories are kept while your account exists. If you cancel your subscription, we keep your stories so they open again if you subscribe again.
  • Demo stories are kept with their anonymous account ID.
  • Subscription and payment records are kept for as long as UK tax law requires.

You can ask us to delete your account and stories at any time by emailing support@chooseyouraifuture.xyz. We'll do it within one month, except for records we must keep by law.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • get a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • have it corrected if it's wrong;
  • have it deleted;
  • restrict or object to how we use it;
  • receive it in a portable format.

To use any of these rights, email support@chooseyouraifuture.xyz. We'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.

Children

The service isn't meant for children, and you must be 18 or over to subscribe. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters for how we use your information, we'll tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
